GOLDEN HANDCUFFS

I'm mad, aren't you?  When I was deciding what I wanted to do with my life, no one explained to me the difference between:
MAKING $$$$ vs CREATING WEALTH. 

You may have been told the same thing..."Go to college, get a great education so you can get a good job."  What they didn't say is that that 'GOOD' job would handcuff me to a treadmill and I wouldn't be able to get off.

With a modest salary and out on my own with bills to pay, the reality became a vicious cycle of going to work, getting paid, paying my bills, having no money left and having to do it all over again and again just to somewhat keep up. Handcuffed!

So I worked harder to progress in my career.  It worked and I begin to make more money.  Great, right?  Not really.  Now, they really had me.  For my better than average salary, I had to work longer hours and take work home. While friends with less stressful jobs and less responsibility were out partying and having fun (don't know where they got their money), I had little time to enjoy the money that was sitting in my bank account.   Hoodwinked and Handcuffed!  Then, when I reach a 6-figure income, I found out that the better the job and salary, the benefits and bonuses, the pension and severance packages...are just golden handcuffs! 

But many years ago, I read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki.  In it, he describes principles he learned as a young boy.  From his poor bio-dad (who was only doing as he had been taught), he learned the "go to school, get a job plan."  But from his rich dad, the father of a close friend, he learn the principles of leverage your time and creating wealth...not just generating an income.

The difference is when you generate an income (& ultimately spend it) you have to go back out and generate more income.  That becomes the rat race.  However, when you build assets that will pay you dividends repeatedly, you create TRUE WEALTH.  There are many industries that are lucrative, but until you invest your income and time into building assets you'll always be chasing the mighty $$$$. 

I know of no greater industry that allows the average person the opportunity to generate an above average income than DIRECT SALES.

• work part-time
• work on your own schedule
• significant tax advantages
• no limitations or glass ceilings
• no one deciding your success but YOU

You may have had an experience in direct sales or perhaps you're considering it for the first time.  Just know that the factors that will affect your ability to be successful include:  signing with a solid company and inspiring vision; one that has wonderful products that are consumable and has mass appeal; a simple, powerful compensation that gives you different ways to generate your success; and finally, an organization with a good energy and spirit within which you would be supported, encouraged and have access to great training.
